Bright Stars Head Coach Joseph Malesh has released a squad of 23 for their Sunday 4 AFCON 2017 qualifier away to Equatorial Guinea at Nuevo Estadio de Malabo, Malabo.

The government of South Sudan through the line ministry has guaranteed the trip that almost aborted due to unavailability of transport money by providing the necessary funding.

Juba-based players start the journey to Malabo Thursday, September 1, with the Khartoum’s counterparts linking up with them at a stopover in Ethiopia.

South Sudan were victorious in the first leg played on September 6, 2015 in Juba, edging the “national thunder” 1-0.The win was historic for as it served as the first ever international win for the nascent country.

Both teams are already out of the road to Gabon, making the encounter more of a friendly.
