CHAN 2016:Battle Royale in the offing as Kenya’s Harambee Stars prepare for Ethiopia Walia Ibex

The Mention of Ethiopia and Kenya elicits emotions and sweet history laces with facts about the two strongest Athletics nations in Africa and among the best in the World .

However the football rivalry among the two neighbourly nations dates having played 34 times since first meeting in 1962 the year Ethiopia hosted Africa Cup of Nations and won the tournament.

The sweet but sentimental rivalry will be renewed this weekend in a CHAN 2016 match to be played in Ethiopia with the venue yet to be announced officially by the Ethiopian Football federation.

Kenya’s Harambee Stars begin camp today(Tuesday) under coach Bobby Williamson as they prepare for the match after a good outing over the weekend when they drew 1-1 with Congo away in An Afcon 2017 qualifier.

On the other hand Ethiopia under new coach Yohannes Sahle will be buoyed by the uplifting 2-1 win over visiting Lesotho though they will have no time to celebrate as Ethiopia Walia Ibex immediately assembles to start preparations ahead of the important clash that will define who amongst the true country is superior in the beautiful game.
