Gor Mahia will wrap up the 2015 Sportspesa Premier League( SPL) title on Wednesday evening if they will earn a point during their mid-week League tie against Sony Sugar slated at the Nyayo National Stadium.
Gor Mahia were set to host their visitors at the Nairobi City Stadium starting from 1500 hrs but the match has since been moved to Nyayo National Stadium. The kick off time has also been changed from 1500 hrs to 1900 hrs.
Gor need to pick a point in the match to win their third consecutive SPL title. Sony on the other hand is fighting relegation and will go into the match in search of the three points that will ease their fears.
The first leg between the two sides ended 1-0 in favor of Kogalo with Ali Hassan Abondo scoring the lone goal of the match.
After pulling a barren draw in a tough league encounter against Ulinzi Stars in Nakuru on Sunday, Gor Mahia’s Green Army are expected to throng the venue and light up the pitch with fireworks .
Head coach Frank Nuttall was happy with the show his team put up against the physical opponents (Ulinzi stars) and hoped they will repeat a similar performance on Wednesday against their opponents.
“I congratulate my players for their strength of mind and focus to carry out our game plan. But now ,we are facing another stubborn side on Wednesday. We cannot underrate them despite our search for a point to crown our season success” noted Nuttal.
Gor will parade their usual regulars that include Goalkeeper Bonface Oluoch,Khalid Aucho,Meddie Kagere,Innicent Wafua and Godfrey Walusimbi to torment their Awendo opponents.
Though Gor are tipped to collect maximum points, they must be keep their cool and utilise their chances as they race for a record third consecutive Kenyan Premier league title having won in 2013,2014 and now 2015
