Turkish Cypriot Premier League:
FULL TIME: Bogazici 0-3 Yenicami.
Ugandan International defender helped his new team Yenicami FC to secure a second successive victory in the Turkish Cypriot premier league. Mwesigwa together with his defensive partner Elbay bertiz, made sure that their team win 0-3 away from home a result that took Yenicami to the summit of the 14 teams log with six (6) points from two (2) games played.
The first goal was scored by Hussein Sadiklar in the 54th minute; Halil Turan made it 0-2 for the visitors after 76 minutes before Emre Turk added the third 5 minutes from time.
After the game, Mwesigwa was grateful to God for the win and a clean sheet for his team.
‘’Thank God again for today’s victory in Turkish Cypriot premier league away against Yeni Bogazici fc and above all keeping a clean sheet’’. Mwesigwa wrote on his face book time line on Saturday. In a separate chat with soka25east, the Ugandan international said he is now back to his full fitness. ‘’ am back to my fitness’.’ He said.
Mwesigwa who had spent several months without active football since parting ways with Karzakistan club FC Ordabasy, joined Yenicami FC last month and he hopes to re-capture Uganda Cranes coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s eye for a possible sermon on the Cranes squad ahead of World Cup and AFCON qualifiers.
The long serving Uganda Cranes central defender has not featured for the team since captaining it in the 2-0 loss to Guinea in the AFCON qualifiers a game in he received a red card that automatically put him out of contention for selection for the previous encounters. However Mwesigwa’s suspension ended last month in the Cranes away win against Comoros in the 2017 AFCON qualifiers.
Now whether Mwesigwa will reclaim his captaincy very soon or not will depend on first, how he continues to perform for his club but also on how he relates with team coach Micho.
Recently Micho told soka25east that he is in good contact with the defender but insisted Geoffrey Massa was his captain.
Yenicami beat Bagcil 3-1 in the first game and play at home next weekend targeting three wins in a row to stay on top.
