Patrick Phiri netted twice as the Young Flames of Malawi beat Swaziland 3-2 in the opening game of the 2017 Cosafa U-20 Championships played at Arthur Davis Stadium in Kitwe.
Malawi came out of the blocks as early as the 12th minute with Peter Banda putting his side into the lead.
Nthumbise Muzi equalised in the 53rd minute but Malawi immediately went ahead again in the 55th minute with Patrick Phiri’s beautiful left footed shot finding the target.
Swaziland were awarded a penalty in the 60th Minute, Saviola gladly converted to bring the scores to 2-2.
But Patrick Phiri scored the winner moments later in the 65th Minute to seal all the three points for the Young Flames.
