The 2018 Fifa World Cup kick-off on 14 June 2018 in Moscow, Russia is still 272 days away, but for football fans around the world,another important date has arrived: tickets for the event are now on sale to the general public.

Fans can apply online, through www.fifa.com and tickets will be sold in two pharses.

Phase 1 of FIFA’s ticket application process will open on September 14 at 12 noon in Moscow fans who apply any time between today and Oct. 12 will have an equal chance of obtaining match tickets for the tournament.

If there are any remaining tickets available that were allotted for the first phase of sales, they will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis from Nov. 16-28.

Phase 2 of the sales process begins four days after the FIFA 2018 World Cup Draw on Dec. 1.

Tickets prices range from £79 for a second-round group match to £829 for the final in Moscow.

Russian residents will have a special price category with tickets starting at £17 with the most expensive ticket for the 2018 World Cup final, £829 is a £151 increase on the equivalent ticket at the Brazil 2014 final in Rio de Janeiro.

The Fifa ticket website  include a map of the ground that shows the location of different categories of tickets.

This meant there would be “no surprises” over where fans would end up sitting.

Supporters can request a maximum of four seats per match, and for a maximum of seven matches

As of now, all fans who are awarded World Cup tickets will receive them in the mail free of charge beginning in April or May of 2018.

Fans who have match tickets will also be exempt from applying for a Russian travel visa and will be provided with free rail transit between host cities.
