Equatorial Guinea booked their place in the second round of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying with a 1-0 (2-1 on aggregate) win over superb South Sudan at Nuevo Estadio de Malabo in Malabo on Sunday.
The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture in Omdurman, Sudan earlier this week. An own goal from Niko Kata cancelling out Luis Meseguer’s opener.South Sudan were the better side in the battle.
The result, left both teams with a lot to play for in Malabo in the second-leg.

Kike Boula, who like Nsue now plies his trade in Cyprus, teed up the Equatorial Guinea skipper who slid home a low shot to lead the hosts into the next round.
