5 Star Ghana Black Stars humble hapless Chad

Otto Addo’s bold attacking strategy paid off handsomely as Ghana’s Black Stars delivered a stunning 5-0 victory against Chad in their World Cup qualifying match at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday evening.

From the outset, the hosts showcased their dominance, comfortably controlling the game on their home turf and securing three crucial points to ascend to the top of Group I.

Antoine Semenyo set the tone early, scoring in the second minute after capitalising on a rebound from his initial shot, which was saved by Chad’s goalkeeper Jourdain Mbaynassem.

Ghana doubled their advantage in the 31st minute when Kingsley Schindler’s precise cross found Inaki Williams, who headed the ball into the net.

The Black Stars continued their relentless attack, and just five minutes later, Semenyo’s penetrating run into the box resulted in a penalty after he was fouled by Chad’s Issa Lony Hassaballaha.

Captain Jordan Ayew confidently converted the spot kick, giving Ghana a commanding three-goal lead by halftime.

The second half saw more of the same as Ghana maintained their offensive pressure. A corner from Ernest Nuamah in the 56th minute allowed Mohammed Salisu to score with an unchallenged header, further exposing Chad’s defensive frailties.

Nuamah added his name to the scoresheet in the 68th minute, finishing off a clever back heel pass from Ayew to seal the emphatic victory.

With this dominant performance, the Black Stars not only secured all three points but also bolstered their World Cup qualifying campaign. Their next challenge will be against Madagascar on Monday evening.
