Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) have received 52 applications for the vacant head coach position at the Amavubi.
Last month, FERWAFA invited applications from qualified coaches as the federation looks to appoint a new coach who will take over following the sacking of coach Jonathan McKinstry. The new tactician is expected to be in charge of the team as they prepare for CHAN qualifiers.
According to federation, they have received applications from foreign coaches with some coming from as far as USA .
Among top applicants is former Algeria National team coach George Leekens.Also the former Harambee Stars coach Antoney Hey has shown intrest in the job.
Other notable high profile coaches vying for the position include Winfried Schafer, Samson Siasia, Dragomir Okuka, Tom Saintfiet, Peter Butler, Nikola Kavazovic, Sebastien Desabre, Goran Kopunovic, Didier Gomes da Rosa and Engin Firat.
The FERWAFA’s Executive Committee will meet to decide further on the modalities to undertake in picking the best suitable coach for Amavubi.
