10 man Kampala City Council (KCC FC) got to a brilliant start when they secured an important away 2-2 draw against hosts Nkana in a fast paced match played at the Arthur Davies stadium in Kitwe on Saturday afternoon in the Orange Caf Champions league.
Tonny Odur broke the deadlock for KCC in the 27th minute to give them the lead but Nkana’s Ronald Kampamba lost aa glorious opportunity to draw them level when his penalty save just before half time was saved by Jamal Salim.
The goal seemed to spar on Nkana who fought relentlessly and got their equalizer through Ronald Kampamba who atoned for his penalty miss as the game went to the break at 1-1.
Nkana came from the break firing from all cylinders and the effort paid off handsomely as Shadrack Musonda gave them the lead in the 48th minute upon resumption of the second half.
However the goal did not dampen KCC spirit despite suffering a setback when Tom Masika was sent off for a second bookable offence as Brian Majwega restored parity from the penalty spot to give KCC an upper hand with their away goals in the 74th minute.
If KCC FC draw goalless in the return leg they will set up a mouth watering clash with either Kabuscorp of Angola or Zamalek of Egypt.t
