Tanzanian International Mbwana Samatta who plies his trade for African champions TP Mazembe is set to move to Belgian side KRC Genk soka25east.com can reveal.
Mbwana first revealed to soka25east.com in October as Taifa Stars prepared to play Nigeria in an Afcon qualifier of his intentions to move to Belgium after a very succesfull spell at Congolese side TP Mazembe.
“I have given my best to TP Mazembe for the years i have played for them and i belive its the right time to make a move to Belgium where i intend to improve my game and join the European elite teams.Every player’s dream is to play in the top flight and i feel the time is ripe now after a succesful time at Mazembe”Samatta told soka25east.com
Samatta had a very successful CAF Champions League campaign with The Ravens, where he scored 8 goals to help the team lift the African title for the 5th time in their history.
According to L’Equipe, Mazembe and Genk have struck a deal for the 23-year-old forward, who will sign a 4-year and a half contract with the Belgian club.
KRC Genk are currently occupying the 6th place in the Belgium league.
