SC Villa boat sinking as players survive without pay

SC Villa-20131120-105333

By Steven Kagiri,
Despite convincing a want away coach Steven Bogere to stay at Villa Park, the record 16 time super league winners SC Villa are likely to follow their rivals Express FC in terms of bankruptcy.

Sources at the club intimated to Soka25east.com that some players have gone several months unpaid which is the reason to the poor run.

“It is true the club has no money but we are doing every thing possible to fetch and collect some money especially from club fans since Villa no longer stands on an individual tycoon as before”, confirmed a top club official.

Things blew out of proportion when team captain Ayub Kisalita shunned training on Monday in protest over his dues.”Yes, the moral is down in the team which needs urgent intervention for better as some players have shunned training and matches”, noted club coach Bogere.

In a bid to fund raise for this sinking team, club officials have organized a national fans’ day out on April 5 at Villa park where fans will be registered on a Ushs5000 (USD 2) fee before they purchase membership cards at ushs 50000.
