Newly promoted Lumwana Radiants have confirmed that they will not be moving their home games to a new stadium.Radiants were earlier rumoured to be moving their home games to Solwezi due to the state of their stadium.
According to a official statement posted on the Clubs official page ”Lumwana Radiants” Moving the games to Solwezi’s Independence Stadium would be very costly .This would also reduce the number of fans trooping to the stadium as the Clubs major fan base is in Lumwana.
Radiants have also denied having had any form of contact with the management of Solwezi’s Independence stadium over the use of the stadium.
The Full Statement is below
OFFICIAL STATEMENT:
With a few weeks to the start of the 2016 season, we would like to make it known that our venue for this season will be our current Lumwana Football pitch.
There has been speculation that the Solwezi Independence stadium will be our venue, this is an unfounded rumor and this
notification should be taken as official.
There have been no talks with that stadiums management to any effect and our venue of
preference to FAZ will be the Lumwana Football Pitch.
Our facilities are undergoing renovation and improvements with plans to mitigate the perceived logistical bottlenecks are on course to ensure smooth passage for the visiting supporters in and out of the Lumwana Township.
Playing in Solwezi will not only be costly but also deprives us of the ground we have come to love and call home.
