Rwanda government waives Visa fees for all Nationals from participating countries in CHAN 2016

Rwanda has waived visa fees for all nationals from the participating countries that will compete at the 2016 African Nations Championship from January 16-February 7.

This move is to make it easier for fans to support their teams that will be competing in the biennial tournament.

Rwanda’s Minister of Sports and Culture Hon. Julienne Uwacu, “All nationals from participating countries do not have to pay visa fees to enter Rwanda. This is make sure that no one fails to come to Rwanda because they cannot afford to pay the visa fee. This will help Africans to follow Chan.”

Cameroon’s press officer Simon Molombe Lyonga said that, “This will facilitate a good movement of fans to Rwanda and in Cameroon, this was received well by fans who intend to come out and support us.”

All Africans will also be able to receive visas on arrival at any Rwandan entry point. This decision removes the necessity for pre-clearance requirement of acquiring an entry visa before travelling to Rwanda.

Sixteen teams will compete at the three-week tournament including Angola, Cameroon, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Gabon, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Mali, Morocco,Niger, Nigeria, hosts Rwanda, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
