Benson Ociti this evening penned a two year contract with Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side Chemelil Sugar FC from Uganda Premier League outfit Soana FC, Soka25east.com can exclusively reveal.
Ociti crossed over to Kenya for greener pastures last week Wednesday 7, and has been trying out with the Awasi based side under the watchful eyes of head Coach Francis Baraza. Having impressed the technical bench, the former URA, Police and Saona FC striker was today offered a good deal which he inked in the presence of his agent Ronny Santos.
Representing the management was the Club Secretary who is also the Chemelil Sugar Company Limited Public Relations Manager Mr. Bosco Magare.
Speaking after the signing ceremony, Ociti who has also played for Uganda Cranes, thanked the Coach for believing in him and the management for offering him the opportunity to further his career.
“It’s a great opportunity and I promise to give my best. I’m here to score goals and that’s what I want to do.” He said.
On his part Coach Baraza challenged the player to remain focused, and fight for the team and for his own future.
“For the days I have been with him in training, he has shown a lot of potential, just a few areas to work on, especially his fitness levels and he will be good to go. I want to challenge his to maintain the focus he has shown in training.” Coach Baraza said.
He was granted his wish of donning jersey number ten.He later left for Kampala to pick his belongings – he is expected back by Sunday 17.
