Only the best will do as a wealth of talent is on display at the ongoing African nation’s championships CHAN in Kigali, Rwanda.
Local football players from 16 nations in the ‘Dark’Continent of Africa are lining themselves up for success as they grab the opportunity to show what they got on the pitch.
The CHAN 2016 tournament is proving to be gaining more popularity than other continental championships, after offering numerous chances to local players who are looking for greener pastures to showcase their abilities.
In the 2014 edition a lot of players got chances to sign up with clubs away from their home after being scouted.
This year’s edition is no different with major clubs in Africa and Europe sending their scouts to hunt for talent.
Investing In Football
Rwanda after hosting the 2009 and 2011 U20 championships has proven that it was ready for the championship that started on the 16th of this month and will run till the 7th of February.
To host the 4th edition of the event the Rwandan government under President Paul Kagame invested a total of 21 million dollars which has seen Four venues, Amahoro Stadium, Kigali Regional Stadium, Huye Stadium, and Umuganda Stadium in Gisenyi- all in perfect international standards, hosting the 2016 event.
They have also ensured security is paramount for both the teams and the fans.
CAF have heaped praise on the government and local organising committee for a splendid job.
Rwandese football Fans have not disappointed as they flock the stadiums each day to watch the beautiful game.
The home fans have a lot of expectations and their National team the Amavubi never disappointed when they narrowly dismissed Ivory Coast 1-0 in the opener match.
