Gor Mahia midfielder Khalid Aucho has cleared the air over his absence from the Kenyan champions with just two weeks left to the team’s participation in the CAF champions league primaries, stating that he has been nursing an injury.
The 2015 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) midfielder of the year runner up has been loudly missing from the team even as they get in shape ahead of the new league season starting in February with rumors flying around that he could be heading away from the club over contractual disagreement.
In a Facebook post this evening from his base in Uganda, the Uganda Cranes international assured teammates and fans of K’Ogalo that he will return for preseason next week, without giving the exact date.
“My teammates, fans and family of Gor Mahia FC I am coming back to play for Gor Mahia because I am still a Gor Mahia player; I’m just feeling some small pain but I will be okay soon and I will be there next week; may God bless you all I love you so much guys.”
Aucho picked a knee injury last year while on national duty with the Cranes in a match against Togo in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
In another news, Rwandan left full back Abouba Sibomana and Ugandan winger Godfrey Walusimba have all linked with team, and they trained today with the rest of the at Camp Toyoyo, Nairobi.
