Former Sofapaka forward Ezekiel Odera has joined Kawangware based side Nairobi city stars, hours to the closure of the Kenya premier league transfer window.
The 2010 Footballer of the year awards, young player of the year and second top scorer has signed a one year deal with the stars.
Odera parted ways with cash trapped Sofapaka three weeks ago, and is happy to settle before the commencement of the 2016 season that is set to kick off on the 14th of February.
Unsettled
Since 2010 Odera has been to five clubs, including returning twice to his mother club Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB).
His stellar performance in 2010 while at KCB saw him signed by Gor Mahia, but he could not last more than a season. From K’ogalo he went back to KCB, moved to Thika United, K.R.A to Sofapaka and finally at Nairobi city stars.
However, the forward is optimistic of a better outing in 2016.“My objective is to train hard and command a regular starting position in the first team” revealed Odera to Soka25east.com .
“Am hoping for an injury free season so that I can help the club attain its set goals for the year 2016 ”
City Stars has in the previous years fought to remain in the top flight league and most of the time surviving by a whisker.
“I want to score more goals, help my new club to win many games and finish the league in a respectable position. I want the team to play in the Top 8 tournament next season” Odera added
The Team will open its 2016 campaign with a clash against CAF Confederations cup representatives Bandari FC on the 17th of February at the Nyayo national stadium.
