Betting company Betway has been officially unveiled as AFC leopard’s shirt sponsor ahead of the 2016 league set to kick off in two weeks time.
The 3 year deal worth Ksh 30 million per year was finally signed after uncertainty of who was to be the shirt sponsor between Betway and Sportpesa
“We have been in talks with different sponsors but finally we have settled on Betways. This will help the club that has been struggling to run matters of the club due to lack of funds” said Matthew Oporwa the interim chairman
On his part Betway Marketing officer Anthony Prissman praised the deal saying
“We have sponsored the club for three years. We will be revealing the details and value later as the club still needs more sponsors on board and we do not want to inconvenience them” said Betway Marketing officer Anthony Prissman
It had earlier been intimated that the betting company was coming on board on tune of 30 million Kenya shillings.
However a keen look revealed that the shirt being unveiling still had Mumias sugar as the shirt sponsor leaving many to wonder.
Mathew Opora though clarified that today’s function was just to unveil the sponsor
“We will be unveiling the 2016 season’s kit in three days time. The shirts will have Betways as the shirt sponsor “reiterated Oporwa
