Just after guiding his country to the last 8 of the ongoing African Nations Championships,Zambian captain and Green Buffaloes striker Christopher Katongo is headed to Angolan big spenders Kabuscorp where he will pocket salary of about US$30,000 every month.
The 31 year old who won praises from fans in Rwanda was quoted as saying he is ready to join Kabuscorp after playing for his national team.
The eloquent speaker said it could have been wrong if he signed for the Luanda based side yet he had a national calling and so he decided to wait for the CHAN.
“If I had signed for the Angolan club I could have not played this CHAN. I sacrificed myself for my country,” Katongo told Lusaka Times.
“I could not have inspired the boys had I signed. This is the sacrifice I have made for my country.”
According to wikipedia ,Kabuscorp S.C. was founded in 1994 by president and club owner Bento Kangamba. The club plays its home matches at the state-owned Estádio dos Coqueiros in Luanda and is renowned for their cheerful supporters, mostly of bakongo origin.
