“Jaro Soja” reveals his preferred candidate to succeed Rachier.

Self declared Commander in Chief of Gor Mahia FC fans Jared Obonyo, famously known as “Jaro Soja” has today made known his preferred candidate, to succeed Mr. Ambrose Rachier as Gor Mahia chairman, a position which may soon fall vacant.

In an interview with KTN TV this evening, Jaro openly endorsed youthful, Dan Angila Oketch, also known as “Wuod Ruoth” as the best bet to take over from the current long serving chairman Ambrose Dickson Rachier, who will gunning for position of Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president when elections are called next week.

“I have been soul searching for sometime now on who will take over the reigns at K’Ogalo after Mr. Rachier, and today I can say God is good, he has given me a name; I can finally say Dan Wuod Ruoth Oketch is the man to take over the mantle and continue with the good work Rachier has done.” Jaro, a loyal supporter of Mr. Rachier declared.

“He is a true friend of Gor, and has supported the team wholeheartedly through good and bad times. I believe with him at the top, K’Ogalo will be in safe hands, and we will continue winning trophies.” Jaro added.

Mr. Rachier who is largely credited for the rebirth of K’Ogalo has stated previously that he will relinquish his position at the club if he wins the FKF presidency. Under his watch, Gor has never gone a year without a silverware, the most memorable being the 2013 league title which the club won after 18 years of trying.

Dan, an ardent Gor Mahia fan, is said to have intimated to his close friends that his will be going for the big seat, even though he has not made it public.

The soft spoken father of two, works as the head of procurement in a leading financial institution in Nairobi – he hails from Rangwe Constituency in the County of Homabay.

He is married to the out going Gor Mahia Deputy Secretary General Naima Oketch.
