Kenyan premier league returnees Posta Rangers and Homeboyz marked their return to the League with a blazing start with wins over Muhoroni and Western Stima respectively .
New look AFC Leopards side came from behind to rescue a point against Mathare United as Ulinzi Stars failed to make their numbers count against 10 man Sony sugar.
AFC Leopards 1–1 Mathare United (Nyayo Stadium)
New-look and 13 time Kenyan Premier League champions AFC Leopards came from a goal down to rescue a point against Mathare United in a pulsating and entertaining game played at Nyayo stadium.
Mathare were quick of the mark on second minute from a set piece which was taken by Naoh Abich and headed in by Obadiah Ndege minutes after kick off.
Leopards pilled pressure after conceding the goal and their effort paid off on the half hour mark when Chrispinus Oduor handled the ball inside the box in an attempt to clear a shot from the dangerous new signing Clifton Miheso .Andrew Tololwa another new signing stepped forward to slot the spot kick home against his former side.

Kakamega Homeboyz 2-1 Western Stima (Mumias Sugar Sports Complex)
League returnees’ Homeboyz won the first western dual against the neighbors Western Stima with goals form Ali Bhai and Keiphas Mutuu , while Fred Shimonyo handed Western Stima a consolation score with a second half penalty.
Homeboyz dominated the first half as Stima were nowhere in the match as Homeboyz’s Bhai opened the scoring in the 14th minute after a lovely cross form winger Moses Mudavadi.
Stima won a penalty in the 49th minute which was converted by Shimoyo , but Homeboyz earned a penalty of their own which Mutuu comfortable put in the net on 71 minute to settle to set daylight between the two teams
Sofapaka 3-1 Ushuru (Kenyatta Stadium)
New Batoto ba Mungu side shocked many pundits when they pulled out a emphatic win against a more experienced Ushuru side.
Ken Kenyatta coached side opened the scoring though Roosevelt Blatty who gave the taxmen an early lead before Gerald Bagoole restored balance for the home side via a penalty. Brian Nyakan then put Sofapaka ahead and later Heritier Luvualu settled the matter for good.
Thika United 1-2 Tusker (Thika County Stadium)
Thika will have only themselves to blame for their loss as they dominated for large swatches of the match only to fizzle when it really mattered.
Kennedy Otieno gave the hosts an early goal in the 16th minute, but the brewers leveled matters shortly before the breather through a penalty converted by ex-AFC Leopards Timonna Wanyonyi.
Another new brewer signing Mike Khamati put the game to bed with an easy goal in the 73rd minute as Paul Nkata, given the big target of winning the Kenyan championship this year, got his campaign off to a winning start.
Ulinzi Stars 0-0 Sony Sugar (Afraha Stadium)
The soldiers, considered pre-tournament favourites, had the better of the exchanges with Kevin Amwayi and Mark Makwata having a genuine sniff at goal but in vain.
Sony were reduce to 10 men in the 48th minute when Victor Ayugi was sent off for a second yellow card offense.
