Uganda’s Vipers SC beat visiting Enyimba SC of Nigeria 1-0, in the preliminaries of CAF Champions league played on Friday 12 at Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium,Uganda.
Vipers will now head into the return leg of the tie away in Nigeria in a fortnight’s time buoyed by the giant kill, hoping to finish the business.
Erisa Ssekisumba’s 72nd minute strike from a solo effort made all the difference, after a barren first half characterized by countless missed chances from both sides.
The Ugandan international, broke free from the left, making his way into the box before firing past Enyimba keeper Afelokai Theophilus for the lone goal in the 72nd minute.
Vipers held on for the slim win, setting up a do or die battle in the reverse tie in Port Harcourt.
