The new Football Kenya Federation is set to unveil a new look Harambee Stars technical bench on Saturday.
It’s now official Harambee Stars Scottish coach Bobby Williamson has been sacked from his position with immediate effect just days after the new federation took office.
F ormer Mathare United coach Stanley Okumbi will replace Bobby Williamson as head coach and will be assisted Musa Otieno and Gor Mahia’s assistant coach Frank Ouna while Edward Oduor will be the new Team manager.
The new developments were deliberated by the National Executive Committee on Thursday as the new federation seeks to get a team that will handle the Afcon qualifiers coming up in March.
“The trio will be unveiled tomorrow (Saturday) at PanAfric hotel in Nairobi. The federation met and decided on the way forward to ensure we give our local coaches an opportunity ahead of the important Afcon qualifiers,” an official who was privy to the decision told supersport.com.
Williamson was appointed to take over from Adel Amrouche who was sacked in a huff after Kenya failed to go past Lesotho in 2014 Afcon qualifiers.
Since taking over Williamson’s biggest achievement since taking over was steering Kenya to a historic 1-0 win against highly ranked Cape Verde in a 2018 World Cup qualifier last year.
