Ugandan goalkeeper Salim Jamal believes there are number of weaknesses SC Villa can exploit when they face-off with Sudanese side Al Khartoum in their Caf Confederation Cup preliminary round return leg at Nakivubo on Saturday.
The Blues need only a draw to progress to the subsequent round against Zanzibar side JKU, following their 1-0 first leg triumph 10 days ago.
“Their defence is slow and goalkeeping is a problem to most Sudanese clubs. So that is something that they can capitalise on,” hinted Jamal, who plies his trade with Sudan league champions El Merreikh.
“Villa have the advantage and should progress. They have to maintain their focus throughout the game.”
The shot-stopper has been in scintillating form for his side this season keeping six clean sheets in eight games for the table-topping Merreikh.
Meanwhile, Uganda’s other representatives on the continent, Vipers, yesterday suffered a setback ahead of their Caf Champions League preliminary round return leg against Nigerian side Enyimba following injury to forward William Wadri.
The striker will replaced by towering forward Alfred Leku for Sunday’s game in Port Harcourt. He joins Shafik Bakaki, Saddam Juma and Duncan Senindde as the other players expected to miss out on the tie that the Ugandan champions lead after their 1-0 first leg win in Kampala, 11 days ago.
The winner of the tie will go on to face either Lioli FC of Lesotho and Burundi’s Vital’O in the first round.
