Gor Mahia travel to Madagascar ahead of ding dong battle against CNaPS

Gor Mahia’s date with CAF Champions league preliminary destiny will be decided on Saturday as they prepare to travel to Antananarivo the capital city of Madagascar today (Thursday) for their return leg clash against Caisse Nationale de Prevoyance Sociale Sport better known as CNaPS.

Kogalo as they are famously known have started the season breathing hot and cold and will need to go to into the match with a winning mentality as they lock horns at the Rabemanajara Stadium in Mahajanga on Saturday in what is a do or die clash for the Kenyans who lost 1-2 in the first leg played at the Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi.

Gor Mahia’s coach Frank Nuttall has admitted that his side will be underdogs when they face CNaPS in return leg of Caf Champiohs League this weekend.

“We know that we are underdogs in this match but we will still believe we can turn around the result and win it. The players have to work hard and give it their best.”

He admitted that the scoring is a problem and hopes his players can learn to make use of their chances. “It is all about using our chances and turning them into goals and that is something we have not done well.”

Gor Mahia have shown time and again that they care capable of putting on a better performance away from home. Against Anse Re-Union in 2013, Gor Mahia put on a dismal performance at home and a much better performance away. Even against CNaPS last year, Gor Mahia scored twice away from home.

Gor Mahia have meanwhile faced a setback as they will miss the services of hard tackling midfielder Collins Okoth aka Gattuso who had issues with his passport this according to club Secretary Ronald Ngala however they will be buoyed by the availability of attacking midfielder Victor Ali Abondo who returned to the country from trials at PSL club Ajax Cape Town.
