Minnows Shamako Babes stunned Jericho All Stars 2-1 handing the James Okongo men the first taste of defeat this season.
The enthralling Sportpesa Super 8 League match was staged on Good Friday at ACK Kabete Technical.
All Stars found the back of the net first before Shamako drew level through Jackson Kioko penalty in the 13th minute for a 1-1 half time scoreline.
West Conference side Shamako returned for the second half oozing confidence, and backed by home support, they took head on their fancied opponent matching they pound for pound; this paid off when James Gishuru produced a stunner in the 50th minute for the second goal while silenced the visitors.
The win is a sweet one for Shamako who had not recorded a victory in the last seven attempts.
All Stars have now failed to win for the second time in a row since the departure of Head Coach James Nandwa who joined Sportpesa Premier League outfit Thika United.
They (Jericho All Stars) drop to third on the log with 15 points, two points off Shaurimoyo Blue Stars; Shamako will retain the bottom spot with 4 points.
Diguna 1-0 Masa
At Nakeel Grounds Diguna FC edged out Masa 1-0 for their third win of the season. The only goal of the match came in the 25th minute through Stanley Yuaya.
Diguna will now move to top ten with ten points same as Masa who enjoys a better goal difference.
Shaurimoyo Blue Stars 4-3 Kawangware United
In another match at Camp Toyoyo, Shaurimoyo Blue Stars and Kawangware United produced a goal fest which ended up with the former going home with three crucial points.
The win propels Shaurimoyo to second second on the log table with 17 points, one point behind Metro Sports.
James Musang gave Kawangware an early lead in the 5th minute with a lovely strike, but Shaurimoyo’s Karim Malik equalized with an equally great goal in the 25th minute.
Rahim then grabbed a brace for Shaurimoyo in the 28th minute before Blue Stars’ Vincent equalized in the 38th minute.
The goal fest did not stop there as Shaurimoyo scored another goal through Brian to make it 4-2 by the 71st minute; the visitors reduced the deficit to 4-3 in the 73rd minute through Francis Thairu but it was too little too late to change the scoreline further.
Ajax FC 1-2 Baba Dogo
Baba produced another Easter shock beating Ajax 1-2 at Nakeel Grounds. Ajax who held Jericho All Stars 1-1 over the weekend was expected to build on the match and produce a win today, but Baba had in store for the a surprise.
John Mark Ochieng scored the opener for Baba Dogo in the 20th minute from a well worked out move as they dictated the pace of the game with short accurate passes.
Ajax fought hard for the equalizer which came late in the 70th minute through Peter Ogola’s superb goal.
The visitors were not done just yet as the pressed ever stronger for a winner which Ken Kimani delivers with just 3 minutes off the clock.
Baba’s Tipo was sent for early showers in the 86th minute but they held on for the maximum points.
Baba moves to sixth on the log with eleven points.
Melta Kabiria 3-2 Kayole Youth
Melta Kabiria served yet another shock result with 3-2 win over 4th placed Kayole Youth. The win at Kawangware BP Ground was Melta’s second on the trot, and will see them exit the danger area.
