Sportpesa Super 8 Premier League – Invincible Metro Sports brush aside Melta

Melta Kabiria 0-2 Metro Sports

Metro Sports maintained the unbeaten run in the Sportpesa Super 8 Premier League with a 2-0 victory against Melta Kabiria in a midweek tie on Wednesday 6 at City Stadium.

Boniface Oluoch’s 13th minute penalty gave the East Conference heavyweights the opener which stood until two minutes to half time when Michael Ochieng’ added the second for a comfortable 2-0 scoreline.

The second stanza should have produced more goods for the visitors, but they were generally profligate in prime positions.

Metro’s top goal poacher Peter Ambetsa missed a glorious chance to triple the lead in the 76th minute when after beating Melta’s keeper he failed to shake the net.

With the three invaluable points, Metro sits pretty at the helm with 25 points, 4 clear of second placed Jericho All Stars who have a game at hand.

Kiambiu Youth Vs Kawangware United aborts

In another fixture at City Stadium, Kiambiu Youth clash with Kawangware United failed to conclude as once more hooliganism showed it’s ugly head.

Kiambiu were leading Kawangware 3-2 thanks to James Mandela hat trick and they were headed for victory when hell broke loose with less than 20 minutes to go and the match had to be called off. Francis Thairu who’s the league’s top scorer scored the Kawangware’s two goals.

It remains to be seen what actions will be taken to deter such despicable acts in the future.

Kayole Asubuhi 2-2 Kiamaiko City

At Camp Toyoyo, third placed Kayole Asubuhi were held to a 2-2 draw by visiting Kiamaiko City.

Asubuhi scored first in 12th minute through Godwin Sematimba for a 1-0 slim lead, which only lasted up to the 27th minute when Marvin Waweru restored parity. The match settled for a 1-1 draw at the breather.

On resumption Asubuhi went ahead but Douglas Odhiambo equalized for Kiamaiko with four minutes of added time to go to salvage a point.

The league continues on Sunday 10, so get out and #WakilishaMtaaYako
