Liverpool manager Jurgen KLOPP singled out Daniel Sturridge for his performance in Liverpool’s 4-1 demolition of Stoke City despite Divock Origi scoring a brace that followed an away goal three days ago.
This praise was rare considering that Divock Origi got huge praise from the Reds fans that filled the Anfield atmosphere.
KLOPP has always praised the young Belgian international born to Kenyan parents in each and every match defending his choice for including him on the line up.
Origi’s form for Liverpool seems to be gaining momentum having scored three goals in just three days with the crucial away goal at Dortmund three days ago.
“It’s normal after a game like this to speak about Divock Origi but today I want to speak about Daniel Sturridge.
“He worked really hard, he scored a brilliant goal that was so important for us, and
he spoke with Ojo on the pitch and kept him in the game. He told him “come on,
stay positive”. Klopp said as quoted by squawqa.com
Against the Potters, Sturridge registered a 50% shot accuracy and he also
completed 100% of his take-ons. Furthermore, the England international also was
tidy on the ball completing 80% of his passes
Both Origi and Sturridge will be instrumental for the Reds as they seek to finish the job at Anfield when they meet German giants Borussia Dortmund in the return leg of the Europa league.
This was Liverpool’s huge win this season and it’s a morale boost ahead of the Dortmund showdown.
