Luska Tigers have vowed to improve security during their matches after Crowd trouble during and after their MTN/FAZ Premier league week 5 match against Nkana.This is to a press statement on the Clubs website.
Club Vice Chairman Brian Bwalya condemned the behavior and has called on the fans to desist from acts of violence and avoid getting on the pitch whenever a goal is scored or they are not happy with a decision.
He further added that any fan caught in such an act whether from Lusaka Tigers or any other Club will be delt with accordingly.

LUSAKA TIGERS REGRETS PITCH INVASION, TO BEEF UP
SECURITY TUESDAY, 12 APRIL 2016 –
Lusaka Tigers football club regrets and condemn in its strongest term the pitch invasion that occurred during the MTN/FAZ Super League match against Nkana football club on Sunday 10th April 2016 at Independence stadium.
Club vice chairman Brian Bwalya said the club regrets the invasion and has since appealed to fans to desist from getting onto the pitch whenever a goal is scored or when there is any dissatisfaction with the way play is going.
Fans that will be found wanting either from Lusaka Tigers or any other club will be dealt with accordingly.
“The behavior was uncalled for and was never intended when we scored. We know and understand that invading a pitch is a punishable offence and as such security will
be beefed up in all the upcoming games owing to the massive turn out that our home games have been
attracting.”
On Sunday 10th April 2016, fans that thronged Independence stadium for the electric match between Lusaka Tigers and Nkana football club overpowered security by jumping over the perimeter fence and ran onto the pitch to celebrate a stoppage time equalizer that Nkana striker headed into his own goal from a Chibesa
Chanda’s free kick.
The fans, however, were quickly removed from the pitch and play resumed normally. Match officials and both set of players and officials were neither harmed nor harassed.
The executive and management of Lusaka Tigers football club has since come up with measures to ensure such an incident does not repeat itself in future.
“We wish to assure our fans, football lovers, our opponents and stakeholders that Independence stadium is safe and conducive to watch and play football from.”
Just like we have maintained the standards during our first two games against Nchanga Rangers and Lusaka
Dynamos including the Nkana game, we shall continue to provide and beef up security to ensure Independence
stadium maintains being the destination of choice for football lovers.
We thank our fans for the support and we will have a meeting with them as a remedial measure to ensure safety for both players and officials. We understand it has been over 15 years since Tigers played Super Division
football but we have to keep our excitement in check. We also encourage people to come with families and friends as Independence stadium is very safe and conducive for
fans and their families.
We also take this opportunity to appeal to our fans and well-wishers to always pay their obligations such as
match tickets and membership fees as the club use the same resources to pay bills and emoluments for the players and the technical bench.
