FAZ MTN SUPER LEAGUE WEEK SIX DONE!
A total of 16 goals scored in Week of FAZ MTN Super League games across the country in the eight games played. The highest number of goals so far in a week was in Week three when a total of 19 goals were scored.
WINNERS
NKANA, NAKAMBALA LEOPARDS, RED ARROWS, LUMWANA RADIANTS AND ZESCO UNITED
Five teams picked three points in week six games which has made the log standings very tight and competitive among each of the 18 teams.
NKANA
A long awaited game between first and second placed team heading to Week Six was to be a key game and Nkana came out tops scoring four goals against an Nchanga Rangers Team that had so much hope of picking something in Kitwe.
But Nkana proving to be a serious contender for title opened scoring so early in the game through Tshimenge, a penalty from Guily Mazimba and two from Walter Bwalya was enough to confirm that Nkana opened up a seven points lead at the top and keep on hoping. Nkana is on track and the rest better watch out because what is happening in Wusakile is something that is worthy to appreciate. WELL DONE NKANA.
NAKAMBALA LEOPARDS
What a surprise and goes to say the 2016 season is a season we have never experience in the league for a very long time. It will be tough everywhere to pick points and at Nakambala in Mazabuka is proving a very difficult place to go. Kabwe Warriors was the victim this time around losing 2-0.
Signs Chibambo and Venecious Mapande with the goals and that win means Nakambala Leopards ends week Six second seven points behind Nkana. Nakambala remain the best defensive team this season having only allowed one goal. The other team with that same statistic is Zesco United but they have only played two games.
RED ARROWS
Red Arrows got out of the statistic of one of the teams not to have recorded a win this season with a win against Forest Rangers. The team which has started very slow this season moved out of the relegation zone to go 12th on the log and to leave NAPSA and Mufulira Blackpool as the only two teams without a win this season.
Daniel Sibanda with the goal that made the three points will be hoped the 2004 champions are back and are ready to fight.
LUMWANA RADIANTS
The last time Lumwana Radiants tested victory was during Week 3 games against Forest Rangers on Saturday, April 02, 2016 in Ndola. After that they lost twice to Nkwazi and Green Eagles. They were facing Blackpool, a team they had never beaten in four encounters. What a sweet victory the Mine team recorded scoring twice and keeping a clean sheet.
It was Lembani Lungu who last scored at home against Red Arrows in week Two. With the other goal coming from Allan Kapila the scorer of the winner at Forest Rangers in Week three. They go seventh above Zesco United with a game in hand.
ZESCO UNITED
The defending Champions doing catch up hosted Nkwazi a team they have had challenges beating in recent times and the first half seemed it would be like those difficult days as the half ended 0-0.
Goals came fast and furious in the second half with Iddriss Mbombo with his second of the season, Cletus Chota Chama and Jackson Mwanza making sure the resistance of the Policemen was brought to a halt and ZESCO UNITED is here and purging the early leaders in NKANA.
BEST TEAM OF WEEK SIX FOR ME
NAKAMBALA LEOPARDS
My pick will be Nakambala Leopards who beat Kabwe Warriors convincingly in Mazabuka without Conceding and going second on the log means the team will once again be a serious and difficult team to beat this season.
Nakambala Leopards gets the applauds having only conceded one goal in the last five games. They also have a game in hand against RED ARROWS. It’s looking pretty good for NAKAMBALA.

DRAWS
Three draws recorded in Week six and it will be a big disappointment for the Big spending POWER DYNAMOS.
Lusaka Dynamos 0-0 Power Dynamos
When the script of this fixture was written, you couldn’t have believed that the outcome would be a 0-0 score line. Power introducing Fwayo Tembo their latest acquisition fired blanks and continued dropping points in their pursuit for the Title.
With Five games played Power Dynamos only has seven points one above ZESCO who have only played two games. If Power Dynamos has serious hope of winning the league, they have to have a serious perfect run from now on. But for Week six, it was a letdown.
Lusaka Dynamos is continuing improving but the team has lost pace, they are in the relegation zone not too good for the team with a rich hype.
NAPSA 1-1 GREEN EAGLES
Two teams that ends the week in relegation zone drew 1-1 with goals coming from Kabuku Maonga and Mathews Tembo and that was not good enough for both teams and as they end week 6 in relegation zone and NAPSA remain one of the last two teams without a win.
The other team is Mufulira Blackpool. Its worrying times for these teams and they should change the way they are approaching the games or else teams are fighting to get off the relegation zone.
MUFULIRA WANDERERS 0-0 LUSAKA TIGERS
So much rumours surrounding the Coach of Mufulira Wanderers of stepping down get the more of the fans around the stadium and finally made a boring game ended 0-0. It’s a very bad result for Mufulira Wanderers who are in a hurry for points but it’s not very bad
when you look at what is happening on the table. Mufulira Wanderers finish seventh on the log at the end of Week Six.
For Lusaka Tigers a point will feel like a win and true to his words when I called the Coach for Lusaka Tigers before the games he said if they fail to win they will draw, he refused a defeat and true to his thoughts they get a point that takes them third replacing Nchanga Rangers.
True to their name TIGER TANAKA (A TIGER DOESN’T GET TIRED) has again been witnessed in Mufulira.

MOST IMPROVED
Lusaka Dynamos getting a point off Power Dynamos where everything looked like they would lose to Power Dynamos I tip them to be the most improved team in getting a point in that encounter.

LOSSES
KABWE WARRIORS, FOREST RANGERS, NCHANGA RANGERS, MUFULIRA BLACKPOOL AND NKWAZI
Five teams recorded losses this week and all the five were away.
KABWE WARRIORS
That should have hurt going 2-0 without scoring in Mazabuka after a very good result in week five at home against Mufulira Wanderers will be seen as a very big disappointment for the Kabwe Warriors followers. Second best to Nakambala and getting back to Kabwe with zero points was befitting from reports that are coming from Mazabuka. Kabwe Warriors are yet to win away this season after playing three away. They are 13th on the log with a game in hand.
FOREST RANGERS
Forest Rangers failed to score at Nkoloma against Red Arrows and joins the teams that are on five points and the difference is now alphabetical order with the teams that are in relegation zone. It’s quite tight as six teams have five points with two of those lying in the relegation zone.
NCHANGA RANGERS
When this fixture was announced every eye was on the statistics of the games and they were all eqaual of the last 14 games played between the two with four Wins, six draws and six draws. But Nchanga found the going tough as they succumbed so early. There will be questions to the penalty awarded to Nkana which Mazimba scored but that generally Nkana were the better side. Nchanga end week six on fourth giving way to Lusaka Tigers and Nakambala above them but take note that there are a number of teams that have games in hand. Not a good result for Nchanga.
MUFULIRA BLACKPOOL
One of the last two teams without a win and travelling to Lumwana and lose just makes their situation worse and goes straight to the bottom of the League table not too good for the introduction to the Super League. Nothing much to talk about but Blackpool is already fighting relegation as early as week six.
NKWAZI
Nkwazi has seen a very good form in the team over the last two weeks but the trip to the defending champions is ZESCO is not a trip any team would relish at the moment. They travelled to play ZESCO last season and won but it was not going to happen this time around with ZESCO near to a perfect team that will be a big stone to everyone to roll. Nkwazi allowed three without a consolation and left disappointed ending week six on fifth position.

MOST DISAPPOINTING TEAM
POWER DYNAMOS is a big team with a lot of expectations and a lot of money has been pushed into this team but the results do not equate to the results that are coming up. Power Dynamos. A lot has to be done there for the Charity Shield Champions.
