A high court in Uganda on Tuesday 19 threw out a sodomy case against former SC Villa manager Chris Mubiru after a successful appeal.
Chris was in September 2015 convicted for the offense of having a canal knowledge against order of nature against 18-year old Emmanuel Nyanzi by Buganda Road Chief magistrate Flavia Nabakooza after a lengthy trial.
Nabakooza based her ruling on the evidence presented by prosecution and it was sufficient to pin the former SC Villa Manager.
Evidence presented by Pastor Solomon Male successfully argued that Mubiru had sexual intercourse with a male person against the
order of nature contrary to Section 145(a) of the Penal Code Act.
Mubiru was arrested on December 15, 2009 and detained at Katwe police station upon his return from abroad where he was hiding in order to
avoid being convicted.
Mubiru was liable for 18 years in prison under Section 1 (29) of the Penal Code Act.
