Kenya Sports and culture Secretary Hassan Wario has hinted at the disbandment of the Football Kenya Federation(FKF) after the weekend debacle where Kenya failed to qualify for Africa Cup of Nations qualifers losing 1-0 Aggregate to minnows Lesotho.
Speaking in a local tv show called Cheche on Citizen Tv ,Wario alluded to the fact that thee ministry was set to issue an official statement this week on the state of football and the way forward coming after the loss.
“We are not talking the loss lightly and i can say Kenyan football is not run well and we are looking at every option on the table that include the dissolving of the federation which has alot of infighting .We gave them time and at one point we saw change but after being knocked out but we will issue very important statement this week to set the record straight”Wario said
“We are looking at total overhaul of football sector to bring in new people and new talent”The minister added
FKF came into office in October 2011 after elections but there has been hue and cry from stakeholders and fans after continued infighting,corruption
