Espérance de Tunis booked their place in the play-off round of the CAF Confederations Cup with a 3-0 (4-2 on aggregate) win over Azam at the Stade Olympique de Radès on Tuesday evening.
The two time CAF Champions League winners suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat in Dar es Salaam earlier this month, but hit back in superb fashion on home soil.
Following a goalless first-half, Saad Bguir, Haythem Jouini and Fakhreddine Ben Youssef found the back of the net for the Tunisia giants.
Stade Gabèsien moved within two games of their maiden appearance in the CAFCC group stages. The Tunisia outfit beat Zanaco 3-0 following a 1-1 stalemate in Zambia.
Elsewhere, Angola side Sagrada Esperança, who beat Ajax Cape Town in the preliminary round, were too good for Vita Club Mokanda of Congo Brazzaville. A 2-0 win in Dundo securing a 4-1 win on aggregate.
CAF Champions League second rounds losers MO Béjaïa, Stade Malien and Al-Merrikh join the trio in the CAFCC play-off round.
