Friday 22, Former Vipers SC attacking midfielder Farouk Miya opened his scoring account with Standard Liege in a 4-1 annihilation of Royal Excel Muscron in a Belgium Pro League tie at Stade Maurice Dufrasne.
It was a special night for Miya who was handed a maiden starting berth for the “Rouches” since crossing over in February this year in a big money move (USD 400,000).
The Uganda Cranes international rewarded Coach Yannick Ferrera’s trust in him with an equalizer in the 31st minute that cancelled out Filip Markovic’s 6th minute goal for Mouscron.
He was however pulled out after an hour show and replaced by Enoh Eyong long after he had made his mark.
Giannis Maniatis got Liege onto the driving seat in the 52nd minute for a 2-1 lead, before Gabriel Boschilia grabbed the third in the 73rd minute. Benjamin Tetteh had the the last say four minutes later with the fourth goal to seal the thrashing.
Liege are top of the league after four matches with 7 points, two behind Kortrijk who have a match at hand.
