For the second time in two years, Gor Mahia fans also known as the “Green Army” are planning to join the rest of Kenyans in the “Mater Heart Run” slated for 21st May 2016 in Nairobi.

The charity event dubbed “Touch a Child’s Heart” is aimed at supporting underprivileged children in Kenya and beyond with heart conditions and are seeking heart surgery at the Mater Hospital.

Under the slogan “Come run with Gor Mahia’s Finest”, K’Ogalo family (management, fans and players) will be out to add their traditional pomp, color, cheer, songs and dances to the 10KM race like they did when they first graced the occasion in 2014.

A part from supporting the noble course, the event also presents an opportunity for Gor Mahia fans to build their brand, enhance and promote goodwill, healthy relationship and positive image of the club they love so much. To others it will be away of saying thank you and giving back to society after wonderful three seasons which saw the club win three titles back to back and reach the final of CECAFA Kagame Cup.

The club is not new to charity work, as they have before took part in the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon in 2013, visited Kenyatta National Hospital Children Oncology Ward and conducted a thanksgiving Prayer Service at St. Stephens Cathedral Church, Jogoo Rd where they donated cash and cement towards the construction of the church’s perimeter fence in the same year.

Gor Mahia have chosen Silver Sponsor Category (100,000/-) in the Mater Run under which they will be entitled to;

To this end the organizers led by Anima Ferrari, Lizzy Yogo, Mannaseh Otieno, Nyar Vatican, Doughty Otieno, Eugene Apidi among others, are looking for at least 100 fans paying 1000/- each to raise the amount. However there are no restrictions on the amount a single fan can contribute, you can sponsor more fans to participate.
