Gor Mahia 1-0 Ushuru FC – What Ze Maria and Ken Kenyatta said

Defending Kenyan Premier League Top 8 champions GorMahia knocked out Ushuru FC 1-0 at muddy Nyayo Stadium to sail to semi final for the umpteenth time.

Rwandan Jacques Tuyisenge scored the contestable goal in the 59th minute from a clear offside position sparking wild protests from the taxmen.

The defeat left Ushuru coach Ken Kenyatta with a bitter pill to swallow and the former goalkeeper could not hide his emotions after the match.

His counterpart Jose Mercelo Ferrera “Ze Maria” on the other hand slammed the organizers for staging the tie on a muddy surface at Nyayo Stadium.

“The game was okey, I think we approached the game positively; I conceded a goal whereby four players were offside, we need to be handled with a lot of respect because we are also a team, not one team should be a team, so I think I’m not satisfied with officiating, I played a good game but the thing is God knows. Three, four people were offside, it’s open, everybody is seeing, the whole world is seeing.” Emotional Ken Kenyatta.

“It was a good game but I’m not happy because we can’t play on a pitch in such a condition, it’s not good for us, it’s not good for the players or even fans. They should have at least used two stadiums, four matches in one pitch in two days is too much. I told my players to play well and not be afraid and I’m happy they played well.” Ze Maria.
