This means the “Garbage Collectors” are now five points clear at the top of the table standings with 55 points after grabbing a late winner against rivals SC Villa Jogoo at Nakivubo Stadium on the same evening.

Nigerian import Akinyemi Sulaiman netted the vital goal for KCCA in the 83rd to hand the Kampala big shots victory.

Vipers could however resuscitate their campaign on Friday 13 at Nakivubo if they win their game at hand against Simba SC and close the gap to two points.

In another match of the day, Mugabi Yasin (GK) converted a penalty in the 80th minute to hand The Saints FC a 1-0 win over Maroons at Namboole Stadium.
