Kenya has invited Spain based Ismail Gonzalez and made overtures to Bruce Kamau in Australia, ahead of Harambee Stars friendlies set for late this month.
Gonzalez, born of a Spanish mother and a Kenyan father has already agreed to the invitation and is expected to link up with the rest of the Harambee Stars squad, when the team assembles for camp.
Kamau, however remains undecided as the Australian Socceroos has shown some interest in him and is said to be weighing his option before making a decision.
“I think it is important that we have a look at all players available, including the two,” said Harambee Stars First Coach Stanley Okumbi.
“The talk with Gonzalez has been very positive, while Kamau is yet make a decision as there are interest for his services elsewhere.
“But we are optimistic that we will have both of them available for selection in the upcoming friendlies,” concluded the Harambee Stars tactician.
Kenya is scheduled to play two friendly matches at Nairobi’s Kasarani Stadium, in preparation for the team’s Afcon qualifier match against Congo, at home, on June 5, 2016.
In the first encounter, set for May 27, 2016, Kenya will field a squad of emerging stars to take on Sudan, before facing Tanzania on May 29, 2016 in a full international friendly.
