Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Appeals Committee sitting in Nairobi on Monday have summoned both Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards to a full hearing of their respective appeals on Thursday 9.
Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards appealed at the federation’s bod against Kenya Premier League’s Independent Disciplinary and Complaints Committee (IDCC) ruling to dock them three points a piece for violence witnessed during their league matches against Tusker and Ulinzi Stars respectively last month.
“We thought the outcome of our appeal was to be known today (Monday) but instead we received a letter from the Appeals Committee explaining that having gone through the appeal, they found that we (Gor) have a case against IDCC and thus we have been summoned to defend it in a full hearing set for Thursday.” Ronald Ngala, Gor’s acting Secretary General said.
K’Ogalo’s based their appeal on the fact that Tusker were the home team and hence should have provided adequate security during the said match as required by KPL rules.
Secondly, they argue that unlike Leopards’, their match went on to completion with Tusker bagging maximum points.
