The much talked about Meddie Kagere’s second stint with Kenyan Champions Gor Mahia will not happen, at least for now.

“It won’t happen. It’s a closed chapter.” Gor Mahia acting Secretary General Ronald Ngala told Soka25east.com.

The stand was further reiterated by Coach Ze Maria who believes the 29-years old may fail to have the same impact on return as great performances are hard to replicate.

Maria’s own recommendation and fellow Brazilian Thiago De Lima Silva has already joined the team – meaning the 15-times league champions have already surpassed the foreign players quota and will have to release one to comply with the Kenya Premier League rule which allows a maximum of five per club.

“You know Kagere had a good history here at the club but that wouldn’t have repeated itself when I refer to the past,” Ze Maria said.

“Kaka did well at AC Milan but when he returned, he didn’t replicate his earlier shows. Ibrahimovic Zlatan, Beckham David both suffered the same fate, it’s not easy for these things to repeat themselves in the world of football, I am not discrediting Kagere, he is a good player but this would have been difficult on his side.” The former Brazilian international explained.

Kagere mesmerised the local football scene on debut season with his wizardry on the ball and ever creative and humerus goal celebrations.

Many fans will never forget his beauty against then newly promoted Nakuru All Stars which made it among the top 100 goals worldwide in 2015. “Pacman” or “Lwanda Magere” as he was nicknamed on that day left keeper Shaban Odhoji for the dead with a superb flick over before firing into an empty net and send the crowd at Nyayo Stadium into a frenzy.

He went ahead to score fifteen goals that season, helping K’Ogalo to win a third successive title unscathed. He also guided the club to KPL Top 8 Knockout Tournament glory and CECAFA Kagame Cup final.

Things however took a dramatic twist at the end of the season as he (Kagere) failed to reach an agreement for contract extension at the Nairobi giants. Efforts by the club’s chief scouting agent Lordvick Aduda to convince him to renew his contract fell through as they couldn’t agree on a new sign on fee.

Kagere's replacement - Jacques Tuyisenge.

Kagere replacement – Jacques Tuyisenge.

Gor Mahia then signed fellow Rwandan Jacques Tuyisenge as his replacement. But having failed to find a new club since his departure,he has tried frantically to make a return K’Ogalo, with the club chairman Ambrose Rachier time and again being quoted saying that Kagere will return in June. But the reality now is that this will not happen during the current transfer window which runs till July 2.
