On the seventh day of the Copa America tournament, it was the seventh heaven for Venezuela who beat Uruguay 1-0 to advance to the quarter finals joining Mexico who beat Jamaica 2-0.

With Uruguay coming in as favourites with few people pessimistic of Venezuela ‘s threat over the Uruguayians.

Venezuela stunned the La Celeste who were missing the services of their star Luis Suarez . Suarez venged his anger for failing to play in the match despite being on the bench. He threw something of a tantrum during the second half.

A stunning goal by Salomon Random really deflated the Uruguayians squad who never recovered from the goal.

At the Rose Bowl, Mexico extended their 21 unbeaten match run with a comfortable 2-0 win over hard fighting Jamaica. Mexico put on a stellar passing performance to secure the last eight spot.

Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez headed in the games opening score in the 18th minute, his 45th international goal before Oribe Peralta provided the dagger with a goal in the 81st minute on his first shot of the game after coming off the bench.

Group D comes alive today. Chile entertain Bolivia at Foxborough in Massachusetts while Messi will be expected to lead Argentina to the quarters past Panama in a match set for soldier filed stadium in Chicago.
