Travelling African coach currently with Togo Claude le Roy has been sentenced to two years imprisonment. The French coach has been arrested for his involvement in a transfer case and fraud. The Togolese FA has not commented on the ruling

Among the transfers in question is that of the attacker Peggy Luyindula who moved
to Olympique Lyon in 2001 for 58 million francs, plus a bonus of 11 million according
to GhanaWeb.
Le Roy’s lawyers have argued that the coach’s lack of knowledge of the legal
framework caused the illegal transfers to happen.
The cases dates back to the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Leroy, who started coaching African teams in 1985 with Cameroon has gone on to
coach half a dozen other national teams on the continent including Ghana,Senegal
and DR Congo.
