Kayole Asubuhi pilled further misery on relegation bound Shamako Babes – drubbing them 5-0 on Saturday to displace Jericho All Stars at the apex for the first time in this campaign.
Giants Jericho, were served their own medicine by Shauri Moyo Blue Stars who humbled them 1-0 at fortress Camp Toyoyo.
The loss was Jericho’s second in the season – leaving them with a bitter pill to swallow as they climb down a point less to second on the log on 42 points.

Kayole Asubuhi ousted Jericho All Stars at the helm of the SportPesa Super 8 Premier League after wiping the floor with minnows Shamako Babes in a one sided encounter on Saturday 9 July at Kabete grounds.
Shamako who were gunning their second win since the league started were felled by strikes from Godwin Sematimba, John Kamau, and Joel Mutua who netted in the 5, 11 and 12 minute respectively.
Godfrey Momanyi and Wanderi Moses ensured the scoreline was beyond reasonable doubt by completing the rout in the 45 and 73 minutes as the visitors bossed the match from onset until the final whistle.
It was a sweet triumph for the East conference side who now have 43 points, a point shy of the leaders while the East conference underdogs are staring at relegation at the bottom of the chart with a paltry 5 points.
JERICHO ALL STARS 0-1 SHAURI MOYO BLUE STARS
At Camp Toyoyo grounds, East conference heavyweights Jericho All Stars succumbed to their second defeat in the league after being humbled 1-0 by Shauri Moyo Blyue Stars in a hotly-contested tie.
Jericho’s impeccable form in the competition came to a jaddering halt thanks to Wycliffe Maikaya who scrambled home the only goal of the match in the 26th minute as the Thomas Okongo’s men struggled to turn around the tie in vain.
The Jericho outfit now slump to second on the 16-team chart with 42 points as the win for their bitter foes improves their points to 36 points at 4th on the table standings.
MELTA KABIRIA 0-1 KIAMBIU YOUTH
Elsewhere, visiting Kiambiu Youth were shocked 1-0 by Melta Kabiria at BP grounds thanks to a 41st minute strike by Francis Wambora.
Kiambiu performed below par and the West conference side capitalized on their sloppy start as they took command of both halves.
Melta now jump to 10th on the chart with 27 points same as Kiambiu who are a spot above.
KIAMAIKO CITY 3-0 AJAX FC
At Huruma grounds, Kiamaiko City demolished visiting Ajax FC 3-0.
Daniel Mwangi set the tone of the match by netting the opener in the 14th minute before Paul Murage complimented his efforts at the half hour mark as Hussein Ali completed the job for the home side just before the break.
As a result, Kiamaiko stagnate at 13 with an improved 23 points as Ajax FC slump to 7th with28 points.
KAWANGWARE UNITED 3-1 DIGUNA FC
Dennis Mucho, Daniel Muturi and Francis Thairu were all on the mark in the 30, 67 and 70 correspondingly to hand Kawangware United a resounding 3-1 victory against Diguna FC at Bp grounds.
The visitors had taken an early lead in the 2nd minute after kick-off through Samwel Kinuthia but the Kawangware outfit capitalized on the home support to down their conference rivals.
The win for Francis Thairu men sees them move a spot up to 11th with 25 points while Diguna remain at 8th with 28 points.
KABETE UNITED 1-1 BABA DOGO UNITED
Baba Dogo United held Kabete United to a one all draw at Kabete grounds.
Regan Ouma had opened the scoring in the 40th minute for the hosts but the visitors came back after the breather rejuvenated upping the tempo with their efforts finally bearing tangible results in the 48th minute when John Mark slotted home the equalizer.
By sharing the spoils, Kabete drop two spots below to 12th with an increased point tally of 25 with Baba Dogo remaining unmoved at 14 with 18 points.
MASA 1-0 METRO SPORTS
A solitary goal scored by Tony Okello in the second period was enough to hand MASA all the maximum points of the match against a spirited Metro Sports at Makongeni grounds. The 49th minute strike means that the Hassan Andale’s men are ranked 6th on the chart with 31 points as Metro remain 5th with 34 points.
