Geoffrey Massa’s brace in the first half was enough to put Uganda Cranes right on top of Group E when they crushed visitors Guinea 2-0 in an entertaining match played at the Namboole Stadium in Kampala in An Africa Cup of Nations qualifier
Uganda Cranes took the lead through Geoffrey Massa who cooly received a sublime headed pass from Tusker’s Aucho Khalid after another pin point cross from Moses Oloya down the right flank.Massa got his brace three minutes later to extend Cranes contolling another pin point pass from Luwagga Kizito to strike home the sweet second goal that gave Uganda Cranes the 2-0 cushion.
The sweet second goal ws some kind of pure science as Kizito received the ball from Tonny Mawejje before he turned Guinea left back Fode Camara inside out hitting a low pass to an waiting Massa contolling the ball with precision scoringa nice shot past a hapless Baby Yattara in Guinea goal. The first half ended with Uganda Cranes in a 2-0 comfortable lead.
The second half was a see saw affair despite Guinea coach Michel Dussuyer making tactical changes bringing on Guy Landel for Ibrahima Sory and Idrissa Sylla for Ismael Bangoura while Micho brought in Brian Majwega for Moses Oloya but Guinea’s move did not bear much fruit as Ugandan remained relentless thwarting all attempts
Uganda Cranes coach Milutin Micho madelate substitutions withdrawing midfielder Aucho for striker Brian Umony and Robert Ssentongo for two goal hero Massa .
In the other match in the same group Ghana managed a 2-3 win away from home against Togo in Lome after last weekend 1-1 draw against Uganda Cranes in Kumasi..
