Zesco United beat Asec Mimosas 3-1 in a Champions League fixture played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium today.
Jackson Mwanza and John Chingandu were on target in a match which Zesco United dominated in the opening 20 minutes.
Asec Mimosas were on the back foot as the captain Zakri, went missing the entire first half.
Jackson Mwanza, Jesse Were and Chingandu were pulling all the strings in attack terrorising the Mimosas defence.
Niamike and Ngouan the wing backs for Mimosa could not contend with Zega’s attack and eventually the pressure paid off for the home side as Jackson Mwanza slotted home from a Anthony Akumu Agay cheeky chip to make it 1-0 in the 32nd minute
John Chingandu made it 2-0 from a free kick on 36 minutes to send the home side into the break with a comfortable lead.
The Asec keeper spilling the ball into his own net.
But Asec Mimosas came back fighting in the second half Zakri coming close but his shooting was off the mark.
Again, Zakri had a chance to pull back a goal from a set piece but his free kick went over.
Substitute Youssouf Dao came close after beating the offside trap, unfortunately his shot deflected off Jacob Banda for a corner.
Asec Mimosas pulled a goal back from the resulting corner thanks to a cheeky back heel from substitute Youssouf Dao.
But his fellow substitute Idris Mbombo made it 3-1 in the 75th minute to seal a comfortable victory for Team Ya Ziko who now move to 6 points in Group A.
