Mathare, one of the 2016 title hopefuls on 31 points, five off leaders Tucker FC could find themselves wider apart if the Brewers win their Sunday fixture against bottom placed Sofapaka.

After a blunt first half that summed up in four goal attempts a piece with Eugene Mukangula’s 8′ left foot strike the only one on target, relegation threatened Thika produced a shocker in the second stanza putting two past the “Slum Boys” for the fourth season win.

The Coach James Nandwa’s charges left it late into the half before Nigerian import Onwudi Chibueze announced his arrival in the Kenyan scene with the opener in the 79′ beating keeper Wycliffe Kasaya from a tight angle with a left foot bang.

Two minutes later, Thika keeper,Ugandan Hamza Mwonge picked advancing Mukangula with a goal kick that only bounced once before the youngster drilled in past a hapless Kasaya for the second goal of the chilly evening.

The remaining minutes saw the visitors hold on tight warding off Mathare’s onslaught that came fast and furious.
