Ugandan international David Kasirye has completed a switch from Rwanda’s Rayon Sports to DR Congo’s Daring Club Motema Pembe in the Linafoot.
Kasirye travelled to Kinshasa over the weekend accompanied by top Rayon Sports officials for contract negotiations that matured on Tuesday with signing of a two year deal.
Rayon’s Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya who was part of the entourage, while confirming the good news, could not disclose the figures involved, however, Soka25east.com has since reliably learnt it is worth $120,000.
Subsequent transfers will see the the Nyanza based side pocket 20% of compensation fee as part of the terms of the deal.
The 21-year old was a top marksman in the Azam Rwanda Premier League 2015/16 season – netting 13 times and guiding Rayon to a runner up finish behind APR FC and a Peace Cup glory against the army rivals.
His exploits caught the eyes of Coach Milutin Ssredojovic who honored him with a maiden call up to the national team “Uganda Cranes” in June for two matches against Zimbabwe in a friendly and versus Botswana in an AFCON qualifier tie.
Formed in February 22,1936, “Imana” is one of oldest and most famous DR Congo clubs; they play their matches at 50,000 capacity Stade Tata Raphael, Kinshasa.
