2016 Uganda Cup winners Vipers SC have raided city rivals and the reigning Azam Uganda Premier League champions KCCA for John Luyinda “Ayala” who adds to their technical bench with immediate effect.

Luyinda penned a three year contract with Vipers.

This in a bid to reclaim the league title from the back to back champions and defend their crown in the upcoming season.

Luyinda who has been unveiled on Monday at the team’s pre-season training at St Mary’s Kitende playground joins former work mates at KCCA Abdallah Mubiru and George “Best” Nsimbe to resurrect the deadly trio that captured two league titles on the bounce for KCCA in the 2012/13 and 2013/2014 seasons.

He joined the team’s afternoon training session conducted at the St Mary’s College play ground, Kisubi.

Ayala as he is commonly known in the football circles, started his playing career in 2003 at Lungujja Young Stars and went ahead to play for a number of clubs including SC Villa and later KCCA FC where he retired in 2011 and joined the Lugogo based club as a member on their technical bench.

“I feel great because it’s one of the best and highly ranked teams in Uganda, I believe it will improve my career as a coach,” Luyinda said.

“I pledge hard work and commit to help Vipers achieve more for years I’ll be here.” He promised.
