Ethiopia’s Walia Ibex Head Coach Gebremethin Haile has named a provisional squad of 28 for the last round of the AFCON 2017 qualifiers against Seychelles in September.
The team heads to camp on Monday next week at Hawassa International Stadium in Hawassa City, the new venue for the match that was previously scheduled for Addis Ababa Stadium.
The squad is largely home-based with just two foreign based players; striker Getaneh Kebede of Bidvest Wits, South Africa and midfielder Shimeles Bekele of Petrojet, Egypt.
Also included is goalkeeper Tekele Mariam Shanko of Ethiopian Super League side Addis Ababa FC.
Ethiopia, placed second in Group “J” with eight points still have a slim chance of making it to Gabon as one of best second-placed teams – making the Seychelles tie a must win and hence the need for early and proper preparations.
